Polish entrepreneur Marek Zmyslowski and his life partner, model Yaritza Reyes, have both built incredibly successful careers.
Marek is a tech entrepreneur who co-founded Jumia Travel, Africa’s first tech startup unicorn (privately-held startup company valued over $1 Billion).
Yaritza rose from poverty to represent her nation of the Dominican Republic in the Miss World 2016 competition and now showcases the beauty of the world through her global filmmaking.
Together, Marek and Yaritza have gained success but remain incredibly humble individuals focused on others. And in this interview you’ll hear how they are making a real difference in raising the most desperately impoverished women in Africa to lives of independence.
You also might be shocked to hear that Marek was on Interpol’s most wanted list for awhile due to corruption and shady business partners. But that experience has allowed him, now on the other side after a two-year court battle to prove his innocence, to help other companies avoid this fate in an advisory role.
Today Marek and Yaritza both find the solopreneur life far more fulfilling than the very public lives they have already lived.
And yes, they share their best advice on successfully transitioning from your day job into the fulfilling world of solopreneurship with you in this episode.
Listen to this episode and you’ll hear:
- Why there’s a need for a different approach to charity than most NGOs (non-governmental organizations) provide
- Why Marek & Yaritza’s MaYa Foundation focuses on helping women in a way that protects local economies
- The importance of charitable efforts helping individuals become independent, not dependent
- How everyday entrepreneurs, solopreneurs and individuals can make a real impact in the lives of those overseas whether traveling or working from home
- The real reason those from third world countries often outperform expectations when you hire them
- How to successfully navigate from from corporate life to the solopreneur life
